I was reading some articles after that white girl went to prom with the Chinese dress and went viral after some Asian guy called it appropriation. Some commenters said the root of the problem was that a lot of Asian Americans who grew up in middle class and upper middle class neighborhoods would have felt embarrassed to wear the same outfit to their school and yet a white girl could do it with no problem and even get praise for it. Some dudes were still bitter about getting clowned for bringing kimchi to school and getting reaction from classmates and now white chefs have no problem adding it to their dishes. I also once came across a podcast on NPR about a Texas high school were everyone wrote an UT essay about diversity on one of their classmates of Pakistani descent. The girl came to the US as a preteen and did everything to integrate by developing a Valley girl accent from watching some teen movie. She was interviewed and said she got disappointed because after all her efforts they still saw her as the brown girl. This girl thought if she spoke like them , acted like them they would overlook the fact that she was Asian. I think most of their issues are a result of older generations buying into the model minority myth leading to a desire to integrate into white communities hard and alienation of future generations.

White people are the masters of copying and gentrifying people stuff.

They do it all the time, they be like "hey Jamal, why all you black people call each other brothas and sistas, are yall all related"


Then as soon as black people start doing it less, it will be " hey Bro(ther) hey my bro, broooo. WhAt's up bro! Yeah, bro"

OP same thing happened to me after reading that thread but I only could read that shyt for 15 minutes before it got boring.

It did make me think about how in systems of white supremacy masculinity is built around the average white male, and everything else is marked as abnormal.

Black men are consider hypermasculine, Asian men are considered hypomasculine, but white men consider themselves the perfect middle ground.

Black men and Asian men don't have anything close the same struggles, but Asian men do have struggles, and it's crazy because their struggles are literally the polar opposite of ours.

I've been saying this LITERALLY for years on this site.

When I go off on my lipless, ectomorphic body, hairy Chewbaca, ages like shyt mediocre white people rants, this is the shyt I'm talking about.

Whites have burned the world down b/c without power, a mean ass propaganda mouth piece, glamour and genjutsu, and snake like tendencies, they would have died off a long time ago.

So history is really one long ass tale of white insecurity causing them to rape/torture/kill other races and convince these races to accept their white inferiority as superiority.

When is also why c00ning is ridiculous. It's like these poor a$$holes just gave up and assumed the position.

I've done this before. Very eye opening experience. I literally didn't know Asian brehs were struggling like this. It's not all Asian brehs. Seems to be mostly Chinese, Koreans and Japanese.
