So if I drop cable, what should I get? Roku, Amazon TV, Chromecast, Apple TV?

So one of my patients tonight told me that he dropped cable. I don't think that's a bad idea. I do not watch television shows on my TV. All I watch is sports (Espn, CBS for college basketball/college football/NFL, and HBO for boxing). There are a few shows I like to watch now and then, but it's not a weekly thing with me. I usually just download the show.

I would love to get something like the Amazon TV joint, but I would need something that includes a sports package.

Any suggestions?

Think i'm going finally get chromecast....should I do it?
Bruh, its like $35.
Why do you need to have a person who probably knows less than you to tell you what you should get?
Chromecast makes it so you can stream your shyt to your TV via the dongle
Is that important to you? Its not an expensive purchase bruh
Just google it and its alternatives. Here's a new entry into the fray

Decide yourself, don't let others trick you into buying some bullshyt, cuz it happens HERE on the daily bruh

Go for Chromecast if you're fine with an average solution and are on a budget.

I've tried lots of these boxes, Boxee, Roku, APTV, Chromecast. but each one of them has one little con that turns me off. Wherever it's sound quality, lag during 1080p stream, incompatibility with certain Hdd's. Getting an HTPC is the solution to it all, now I'm wired in with a network cable, get all quality content 720 and 1080 files and actually have setup a simulated cable system (Pseudo TV) for the days I just feel like flippin channels, currently at 50ish channels of HD content.

I actually had Chromecast on my second TV set, scrapped it and built another HTPC. Once you go HTPC and have the means to get the quality content there's no coming back.
