@TheWhackMamba did he fully delete the photos? On an iPhone the deleted pics are saved for 30 days in a separate folder. Go to your pictures in the iPhone pictures app, go to albums (bottom of the screen) them scroll through to "Recently Deleted" to see if he wiped them out from there too.
