For clarity, I'm in California for a week. 3 days for Coachella but this thread is about the other 4 days.

By all means, hook me up with the Coachella info. I'm a sociable dude so I imagine i'll be good for parties during the festival.


But what about the other 4 days

I've been in San Diego my whole life, I was a little kid running around in Tijuana with my mom, and a little 14 year old in the strip clubs and bars down there, Tijuana is safe right now, assuming all you do is hit some restaurants and strip clubs. Lot of great restaurants, better food then San Diego, imo, it's much more to the city then sex tourism and pills. San Diego hit downtown/little italy and la jolla.

You'll be in the middle of the desert. Not much to do out there unless you drive to San Diego or Los Angeles area.

This is my first time in California so i'm there for a week. After the festival we thinking to hit San Diego/TJ. Is that the best course of action?

I don't get out to LA, hardly at all, I know girls that party up there every weekend, they swear by it....but cute girls in there mid/late 20's, who have been putting in work on the club scene for years, hardly will have the trouble guys will getting into the clubs. If were talking downtown-downtown, that is. If you know spots in LA or you're down to do other/lower end bars/clubs, do that. The Standard is like the Hard Rock up there, could get a room there and have access to the club.

San Diego is just more casual, you can get the whole downtown trip without embarrassing yourself trying to get into somewhere, or spending time driving around from place to place. Get a nice hotel down here, Marriott Marina, Hyatt Manchester, and go out down here, Sidebar, Ivy..less hassle.

same situation, cops tried to shake down my bro. he didnt have the money to pay up so they took his ass to jail. he was stuck in a tj cell for 3 days.

this rarely happens tho. of the 50 times ive been to TJ i only had 1 run in with the cops. i got got...paid the fine...kept it movin.

another time i was at a strip club...one of the owners took us to the vip section and hooked it up with some of the best coke i ever had in my life. took us to his whore house across the street said we can fukk whoever we want for $40 and the bytches were fine as fukk...i had to pass on that tho.

same situation...this white boy i know same thing happened to him. except they got him zooted on some fukked up coke...took him outside beat his ass got his atm card and pin and drained his bank account. also stole his passport.

just be smart. choose your "friends" wisely when you deal with the locals down there. i dont think TJ is different than any big US city. the same shyt happens in LA

Tijuana is not the way it used to be when it was safe to go down and drink and shyt like that. Now it's extremely dangerous, unpredictable, and downright corrupt as shyt. Plus, it's nothing for americans to get kidnapped and never heard from again if your parents/wife don't fork over what they are asking for. I guess if you are going down there, don't be flashy with watches, jewelry, etc. Go in a group and stay with your group. Leave when sun starts going down. Oh, and don't venture off into where tourist are not at.

I went to San Diego/Tijuana last year by myself and and I didn't not have any issues with the Mexicans nor the cops. If you don't flash your shyt, be an ass, try to buy drugs or be disrespectful of the people in Tijuana you will not have any issues. Do not let some of these posters scare you into going to Tijuana just because they hear bad stories from their friends or had a bad experience themselves. Just remember that the Tijuana/US border is the most use border crossing for the US and they may be one incident every now and then. And for the most of the times, those incidents are drug related with the cartels. So unless you trying to buy some coke from a dealer, stay in the tourist zone, have a good time, be respectful and you will not have any issues. Plus there are a shytload of cops at the zone, so nothing is really going to pop off regardless. I hope that is clearer for you and relieve some tension into going into Mexico.
