Are you not understanding that the purpose of part #2 of what I'm proposing is to do just that? Or did you not even read what i wrote? The plan is to subsidize black business to give them a leg up on the competition. I'm essentially bypassing myself to help other black businesses succeed, giving them funds and opportunities that they would otherwise not have access to. My plan would be alot more far-reaching concerning black businesses than what you're suggesting. What you're suggesting almost sounds like trickle down economics. And we all know how well that works. And i could very well stay a business if i wanted to. But i don't have a business idea to work with, that makes sense. In the meantime, how about i try to help those who already have their businesses prosper?

yeah i understand, and im saying it wont work as a non profit

That's not what you said at all. And I'd be happy for you to explain why. That's what the purpose of this thread was. And based on what i receive i may either tweak my idea, or deem it not feasible or unrealistic.

better have people willing to donate to bankroll the entire operation because I don't really see how you're taking any money in.
Right now I'm thinking a combination of 3 things.

1. Donations (as you said) in the sense of large donors and fundraising.
2. Community Donations in the sense of Local churches, HOAs, etc.
3. Volunteers/Pro-Bono work (i.e. Urban Developers)

Of course there are common means that non profit orgs use to solicit donations that I'll utilize. It's just a matter of whether or not people see my cause as a worthy one. That's my job... to sell the idea.

:snoop: I see some people don't understand the non profit game.

Non profit doesn't mean you won't make any money. It just means you can't charge your customers. But your money will come from the government in the form of grants.

For instance a well written grant showing where you can provide a service can bring in millions of dollars annually like the one I work for.

Non profits are the hustle these cacs are caking off right now. They for one, run it to the wheels fall off, then for another.

The Union I from will have a arm which is non profit. :sas1:

I'm looking at this at a banking aspect....and there are government programs that could help you...but at the end of the day a "non profit" has to take in money and you can't just say I depend on donations......unless you have a guaranteed commitment(s) from either a rich dude or multiple organizations saying I'm going to donate a certain amount and this is in writing....its going to be very hard.

And I'm not hating I'm just telling you the truth.

See the non-profits I've seen do something like have contracts from poor school districts to provide food. They're a food bank but they have a guaranteed source of revenue. So then they get rich people to donate and places like Panera Bread give them food.

You have an uphill battle.
