All other non-whites look to us, and cling to the traditional black struggle and our narrative and jump on our ride when the going gets tough.
I understand linguistic-historical context. In previous centuries a long time ago, black in English, such as the term Black Irish, meant a white person who had dark hair.
But in the 70's black had already become a connotation for African-descended people.
Europeans have been aware of Indians for centuries and never called them black.
