some of yall sound like the same cats that said newsgroups were untouchable. that nobody could ever do shyt to them.
back in the golden era before all the bandwidth caps i was downloading an average of a terabyte of shyt in a given month. i used to download shyt just to download it shyt i'd never use but the bandwidth cap era put a stop to all that.
i'm not like yall in the sense that i don't do it for the love of it. i don't feel entitled to piracy and free shyt. i was a broke kid getting shyt i couldn't afford for free. now that i can actually afford to buy shyt why the hell should i be jumping through all these hoops to download something?
my concern isn't even the legality of it. its the ease of access. i'm not maintaining seed ratios on a private tracker and chewing through my bandwidth to stay a member. i'm not downloading shyt i don't wanna download so i can seed it to keep an acceptable ratio cause i downloaded some obscure shyt nobody else is and its hammering my ratio to the point where if i don't seed something i'm getting pruned.
not interested in paying for VPNs and Seedboxes to mask my IP from the copyright police that monitor the swarms. i'm not going on Irc and downloading shyt like i used to do in the dark ages. waiting in some line and shyt to get some shyt off a bot browsing their dumb list and putting in a request.
its just not worth all that extra effort. i was all for downloading when it was go here click on a link and unrar it or let the reader assemble it with no care about where it came from or how big the file was. this modern shyt. i just can't do it. yall go head and live in the new dark ages where you gotta do all this extra shyt just to download something.

people from SOHH sold me on Newsgroups on that same premise. told me and others nothing was ever gonna mess with the Newsgroups. last month i had to cancel my Astraweb account and switch providers. it basically feels like trying to outrun a tidal wave. when they compromise this provider than i gotta switch again.they were untouchable... until a few months ago when they figured out they can target specific newsgroup providers to remove material
part of what was cool about downloading it it wasn't a game of cat and mouse. it was free, carefree and easy. well not anymore.

except that i gotta maintain a decent seed ratio to not get pruned and i got a bandwidth cap to deal with so when i download a more obscure file and complete the download and leave it seeding for days and nobody's getting that file off me i then gotta go back on there and download something more popular and seed it to keep my ratio decent using more bandwidth.
or when i'm looking for an audiobook i could find easy on Demonoid but get the no results deal on the private tracker cause nobody posted it.
You don't need to download anyway, with your 30mbps + all premium channels with a DVR for 18 bucks a month

honestly i didn't think anybody really downloaded cause they was bout that life. i always thought it was cause they were either too cheap or too poor to afford to buy all the shyt they could get for free illegally.
