Xbots ate that shyt all up too.

Can some of you come in and explain why TitanFall won't work on PS4 because it's not an Always-On device but will still work on the One even though it's not an "Always-On" device anymore?

The offline experience would have to be different than the online one.

Otherwise Microsoft is going to be forced to gimp their games actual next gen capabilities/features, to appease the shortsightedness of people online, complaining about having to be online.

:dahell: what the fukk are y'all talking about. "Always online" and Cloud processing are two seperate things. The only reason they are related is because if devs know that ALL users will be online then they are more likely to use time and resources on cloud features.

The only reason they said it can't be done on ps4 at this time is because Sony is not offering the same cloud support/resources. On playstation dev teams will have to fund and maintain their own dedicated servers.

I'd imagine that they'll require an internet connection to play the game, similar to the way they require constant internet for console MMO's.

Nah you got it twisted.

Titanfall is marketed as a multiplayer game. Even single player has online aspects to it. The point of the game is to be connected. To be connected you need internet. To have internet means a once-in-24hr policy doesn't affect you. If devs can assume everyone who buys their game has internet, good things can be implemented.

All the Sony stans that were throwing salt assuming Titanfall will be a timed exclusive were the same people complaining about an online requirement. Using their logic, they shouldn't care if Titanfall comes to them or not because they don't want to be forced to play the game as the developers intended. But alas...

If that's the case, why not just require an internet connection to play the game then? I don't see a reason for the actual system to require a 24 hour check in to play the game.

24hr check was to discard disc requirements and enable other features.

it does need a constant connection that's why it's an always online game. it will use azure servers.

24 hour requirement=/= cloud computing/dedicated servers
