So is Waymo better than Tesla's self driving?

Been hearing about Waymo, particularly the setup in Arizona.


The primary technical difference is that Waymo/Cruise use multiple sensor modalities: Lidar / radar / camera, while Tesla is camera only. And Tesla self driving has been having accidents.

Waymo has the best tech in the game, and like the guy above me says yes them not caring about looks is part of the reason. They arent trying to sell you a car. Tesla, Benz, etc can't have those cam's outside their car.

I see the Waymo's all the time in West LA, they move around very well and drive almost like a regular person would.

I’ve been in a few in LA and Texas. They drive really well and are aware/on point. Only issue I had was when a car was double parked and a Waymo on the other side of the street was in a standoff with mine lol
