Dame had cj and nurkic. He didn't have great teammates.
But let's be real: dame's own individual play stunk in the playoffs. If he had better teammates, they would have just lost the next round. Dame still has weaknesses in his game. Look at how jrue holiday handled that man. How many guards has holiday done that to?
And more importantly, as people pointed out, CJ saved his ass in the semifinals against Denver.
And fukkign Meyers Leonard went off in game 4 of the WCF. But Dame shytted his pants and had the arenas like
If Dame goes to Miami, watch them not make the finals this year

This would’ve been Carmelo’s tenure in Denver if he stayed — and he probably should have. For Melo this type of breakdown would be a somewhat of a success

So one series against a Nuggets team without Murray. He performed significantly worse against a superior Nuggets team the year before, McCollum carried and then proceeded to get swept by a Warriors team without KD and performed worse than Meyers Leonard
Denver beat the Blazers 2021 4-2. In that series Dame's splits were .46/.45/.94 with 34.3 PPG 10.2 Assists
His teammates failed him. Last two seasons when Dame doesn't finish the year they miss the playoffs. Every year before that they make the playoffs.

All these qualifiers aren't helping your case lol. I bring up how he carried bums and now you want to deflect some more. If CJ and Nurk are your 2nd/3rd options you aren't going anywhere, I don't care if your name is LeBron James, you aren't winning anything..
Let's look at who other former 1st Team All NBA players have had as supporting casts shall we
AD - He's had LeBron for the past 4 seasons.
LeBron - He's had AD the last 4 seasons and some solid role players. He had Kyrie and Love in Cleveland, the second stint. He had Wade and Bosh in Miami.
Steph - He's had Klay and Dray the whole time. He had Durant for a few seasons. He also had Iggy when he was still good.
KD - He's had Westbrook, Harden and then Steph/KlayDray, then Kyrie/Harden again and now Booker/Beal.
Giannis - He's had Middleton and Holiday for the past half decade or so and some other role players.
Embiid - He's had Butler for a playoff year and Harden as well as Simmons/Harris but they both never lived up to what they were supposed to. Now he also has Maxey on the team.
Tatum - He's had Brown and some other roles players.
Joker - He has Murray and role players. This might be the most impressive one although Murray is still better than anyone Dame has ever had.
Lebron James took a team with George Hill and Jr Smith to the finals. Jimmy Butler lead a team with undrafted role players to the Finals. CJ and Nurk and fukking Meyers Leonard played well during the Blazers one legitimate playoff run during the 18/19 season. The reason why they lost was Dame couldn't do enough to get his team over. HE was ass against the Warriors. Not CJ or whomever else you wanna shift the blame to. Dame's the star, not CJ and Nurk. He averaged 22 on 37%. Buzzer beaters in the first round really got yall thinking Dame is something that he's not.

Bullshyt. LeBron did take a weak ass Cavs team to the '07 Finals but he's also a top 3 player ever. The Jimmy thing is bullshyt. There were undrafted players but there was also Bam Adebayo on the team. A guy who has made second team All-NBA. Bam is better than anyone Dame has EVER had as a teammate Lol.

I think the biggest thing is that Dame stayed in Portland too long. Some of it was out of loyalty but lets be real Dame has been paid handsomely in his tenure with Portland and he couldn't maximize his earnings playing elsewhere. But the other issue was they leaned to heavily on him and CJ McCollum to carry the offense.
