What do they mean by "holiday season" and what places will actually get systems before 2014

Here we are with another common sense scenario. They gave out two specific dates. The last date being a day or two before December. Common sense would tell you if 2013 was in the plans they would of said "else where dec 12"
I know you like to be let down at the last minute (just like gamescon) but the reality is the PS4 will be severely limited this year. You can't Launch in 32 countries THEN HAVE DIFFERENT LAUNCH DATES. I'm sure the Xbox One will "launch" in 32 countries as well... Some day

Sony did announce two (count em) 2 release dates but mentioned 31 countries.
North America is US and Canada right? I mean, I could add the district of cuba/bahama/st.croix,st.thomas/etc.
But this shyt ain't launching n those places
I'm not an expert about europe, does Europe have 29 countries in it?
I'm sure there's probably about 80 in europe too? I don't know. What I do know is Nov.29th only a small handful of countries
