Dr. Jack Ramsay (may he rest in peace) coached the 1977 Portland Trailblazers to a 49-33 record (2nd in the Pacific Division)

Maurice Lucas (PF): 20.2 points, 11.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists
Bill Walton (C): 18.6 points, 14.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 3.2 blocks
Lionel Hollins (SG): 14.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists. 2.2 steals
Bob Gross (SF): 11.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists
Dave Twardzik (PG): 10.3 points, 3.3 assists, 1.7 steals

The Trailblazers beat the Chicago bulls 2-1 in the 1st round (yes, the Bulls)
They beat the Denver Nuggets 4-2 in the 2nd round.
They beat the Los Angeles Lakers 4-0 in the Conference Finals
Then beat the Philadephia 76ers 4-2 in the NBA Finals

Also of note: In 1977 there was no 3-point shot. That was not adopted by the NBA until the 1979-1980 season.

In case you're wondering what that 76ers roster looked like:

Julius Erving
Doug Collins
George McGinnis
Henry Bibby
Darryl Dawkins

Also, World B. Free, Mike Dunleavy and Joe Bryant (Kobe's father) were on that roster as well.
