So I've received my first ever jury summons

What should I expect, brehs/brehettes?

Anybody ever served on a jury before? Should I try to get out of it? Is it usually boring? Kinda curious.


At the moment I don't really mind if I end up doing it, if for no other reason than that I have an excuse not to go to work for a week.

If you black, try to be on the jury. I'm always disqualified because I have so many family members in bondage.

I was just on a jury last week.

It depends on your case and the length of time your case is. I had a case that was supposed to last a week +, it was taken care of in 2 days.

If you have a job you don't wanna do it, because unless your job pays you what you normally get, usually you're stuck getting daily what the state gives you and that shyt is light.

If you don't participate, it just increases the odds of the case getting an all cac jury. At the very least, show up and state that though you feel you can be a fair and impartial juror, you simply do not trust the system. Some white lady did this during the jury selection for a case that I was a defendant in, and if not for what she said, I may not had gotten the unanimous innocent verdict that I received.

Where I stay, they are supposed to summon you every 5-7 years.

I did it in 2016, and in 2017 they sent me another summons. Didn’t feel like going and told them I didn’t stay in the county anymore

as much as people say it sucks, id love to get on a jury where they were trying to railroad some kid for drugs, or some fukkin pig killed someone

The first time I got summoned, I returned the slip saying I can’t go because I work freelance, and I got excused.



The second time, I did the same thing, and they sent a letter basically saying
Your ass better be there in this date

I drive the 30 minutes to the courthouse, and a fat man is walking out telling people jury duty is cancelled, despite checking the website that says it’s on. I get to the door, and they confirm it’s cancelled. I was pissed I wasted the gas.

i did it last year. some arab was suing these two sistas for allegedly hitting his car. he sittin' up there in a wheelchair and a neckbrace i wanted to serve so bad to vote in them sisters favor but they didnt pick me

anyway just remember to keep the shyt that has your proof, to show your job. and dont worry about dressing nice, these crackers around here sure didnt

Basically expect to sit in a room for a long fukken time (8 hr maybe)

Bring a phone charger or make sure your phone is charged, or bring a book.

If you are a minority male () there is high chance your number will not be called.

If you have any other questions. Ask.

But I am sure my thread covered all the questions.

You do get a break, I want to say 30 minutes for lunch.
