nah it just shows that the league isnt viewing kaep as a starting qb at this point, as opposed to what many have thought

there was this whole narrative that teams really wanted kaep and just were playing the 49ers to get him for cheap...but now when team doesnt want to pay an extra 5 mil to take a guy they supposedly really want....shyt aint adding up really.
for better or worse that's probably the correct call if you dont consider kaep a starter right off the bat. for a starting qb 12m isnt much nowadays and teams are retarded when it comes to qbs...but for a potential backup thats a lot.
for kaep its do or die year. he probably would do just fine with broncos since defense is the qbs best friend, but staying with chip might be better for him in terms of further development. on other hand, if he fails in chip's system, he's prolly done as a starter and will need a break.
