Family business, hey mama, roses, never let me down, Heard em say..These were all very personal song that went against the grain of what rap was at the moment.. This was the era when G-Unit was popping...Kanye made it popular again to be more personal and realistic on tracks...Come on man, stop the hating for onceyou can't be serious

None of those songs were pop...Kanye was making real hiphop tracks that old heads bumped. He didn't make pop music till Graduation and at that time he stopped making personal tracks and started that whole grandiose lifestyle raps... Yes there were other rappers making meaningful music at the time, but they didnt make it to the mainstream like Kanye did..he influenced a generation of kids who only heard what was popping on the radio.that's a different statement from "dude changed the game from how rsonal his songs were".
Just say: "I related more to his suburban shtick than the hood shtick."
Right. Which is why early Kanye fans were former G-Unit followers.
If all you know about rap is G-Unit, you'll think Ye was this personal, realistic rapper. But if you were listening to more rappers and taking in multiple perspectives, you'll realize that great rappers like Common, Mos Def, Nas (who were popular in their own right) were already putting personal 'realism' in their music. They just weren't pop. That's the different. Kanye was.

Y'all nikkas are always quick to discredit the dude
I agreeFor Drake and Kendrick supposedly being the best rappers in the game I really cannot think of any memorable guest appearances save control. In my day () the best rapper always had like a two or three year run of great features. Even Ross has better features than those two
I'm the idiot?Be an idiot brehs
Oh look, it's WickedLames cockeating another rapper for bars he probably didn't write
Remember yall, this is the same guy who was the biggest Drake stan now he act like he never liked the dude. Now Ye is is "favorite artist" and Kendrick his "favorite rapper"

Textbook case of "guy-with-the-longest-verse-got-the-best-verse" Kanye rapped for 3 mins straight. And he was kinda stumbling all over the place.Ye my favourite artists and Kendrick my favourite rapper but YE GOT ON HIS RAP SHYTTTTT
