All of those Samples were usually bits n pieces tied into one Drum Loop.


It was rare that u had 4 or 5 different samples that all played different melodies

Only recently cats would take one loop and add drums and call it a day. De La Soul, J Dilla, Madlib (who made this particular song by the way), A tribe call quest would sample like 5 songs to make one record. Plus this song has different parts. An intro, the main song and Kanye place another song in there just for fun. It happens.

Exactly. Record stores used to close up shop to let producers crate dig for samples. They'd do it for hours

Now it's like producers just find something on YouTube to sample and Loop it
