I am not in the business to shyt on Microsoft, but I think it's fitting to recap WTF has happened with this damn brand since Mattrick made that disastrous announcement at E3 2013 as Microsoft gets ready to launch project Scorpio.
The Kinect was a fukking disaster...there is NO spin @PS4 and @MeachTheMonster can do to justify including this shyt for gamers. It is a cool device, but completely unnecessary and a HUGE part why the PS4 got off to the start that it did and now crushing the XBOX One in overall sales. Nothing in this market sells well for $500+. New XBOX ONE S doesn't even come with the port to connect to it and have to either buy an adapter or get one free from Microsoft if you previously owned an xbox one and a kinect. This is the biggest admission a company can make to admit that they fukked up. Releasing and forcing a $150-$200 (retail) accessory that nobody wants.
Focusing so hard on TV and original programming like it was something gamers were after in the first place. Most of that focus has obviously been either scrapped or shifted their focus to gaming. It's good to see that they finally stopped focusing on shyt that the core gamers don't really care about.
"Power of the Cloud" was such marketing nonsense that I have called bullshyt on for 26424 hours and counting. What a fukking failure to try to justify the baby-shyt GPU inside the XBOX ONE and thinking that the "power of the cloud" would more than make up for it. Biggest feature to date? Driveatars and game saves...
The DRM shyt...I don't even have to elaborate on this
Should have a removable hard drive instead of coming out with different SKUs to hopefully recoup some of their loses.
With the negativity does come some positives however:
Backwards compatibility
Humbled to a certain extent, price drops like crazy and bundled with 3-4 games depending on retailer.
XBOX One Controller was already better than the DualShock 4, The Elite is the GOAT controller
XBOX One games are pretty much all coming to the PC now (some even for free)
I think they are on the right path. Spencer has done a good job.
