From what I've seen.

They'd rather talk mad shyt about us and how we are doing everything wrong than offering any kind of help or guidance.

I mean really, how often do you somebody talk shyt about the current generation? How many of them do think are trying to help them or put them on the right path?

Cuz they set them seeds breh.

Unfortunately.

This ain't the first generation were our lil soilders is dying before 16.
This ain't the generation that outright IGNORED the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
This ain't the first generation that started popping kids out between 13-16.
This ain't the generation that started the trend of shunning education and group economics.
This ain't the generation that continued on the denial of our legacy.
And we damn sure ain't the generation that started the baby daddy/baby mama conundrum.

We ain't create a cycle that we were already a statistic before we was even born brother. Again, I say all this unfournately.

Through I do give :blessed::salute:brothas and sistas of the 90's-00's mane, they at least came to the relization that shyt was fukked up and at least worked for some change.

Like any adult, older people aren't gonna look out for you... if they don't respect you as a person, or what you can potentially be.

It's on you to command respect from these old stinky muthafukkas, and then glean bits of knowledge where you can.

Aint no handouts breh, take what you need.

As far as the black community our parents generation was fukked up too. Were just part of the cycle. Blacks born in the 50s, 60s and 70s destroyed the black family, got hooked on social programs, drugs were introduced (by whites), and the black family as a whole was destroyed.

This shyt didn't start with our generation.

Breh, if you were a teen/ young adult in the 80s in the hood, they contributed to a lot of ills in the black community. Worshipping selling crack and being "hard" for the sake of it.

It irritates me when they complain about the current generation and I'm thinking "Who was responsible for that?"

He basically still doesn't respect you through.

As for that whole nikkas be 20-30 still living with they grandmama...breh we ain't invent that shyt. nikkas was on that ticket pre-ipods, facebook, tinder etc.everybody on this board got an uncle or cuzzo still kicking it under they mama house and they ass getting to the point they can collect that AARP.

But, the message is still felt through, idk, I just don't mesh well with these old heads cuz a lot of they asses is out for themselves only mane, but :salute:to you my brotha.

Yeah man, he's probably always gonna view me as some uppity ass college mama's boy no matter what so I don't sweat him much. I assumed because he was an ex-gang banging prison cat that's why he acts like that but he's fair in a tough love kind of way. He won't yoke you up or anything unless you do some straight foul type of shyt. He can be an a$$hole, he's rude and aggressive to waiters/waitresses while rarely leaving a tip and reminds me of Jay Z of how cut throat, aggressive and shrewd he is to get what he wants but he definitely give due props when their due.

I tried telling him about bread stacking the smart way when we were arguing in how my middle class college classmates stacked generational wealth by staying home temporarily to build up but he was having NONE if it. He didn't give a fukk about college, grad school, or education.(He got his G.E.D. in prison so he could get a job) If it wasn't for the fact that I was already in college just before my mom married him, he would have gave me a trashbag to put my shyt in and threw my ass out of the house the day I graduated HS. He didn't care if I had my own job or if I gave them money, I wasn't his or my mom's problem anymore. Either figure my life out on my own on them cold ass streets by myself or he was willing to give my ass a free ride to the military recruiter office.

It's definitely made me look at life a lot differently and the importance of being thankful for every opportunity I get. It's also given me that aggressive hustler, no excuses mentality and showed me that there isn't shyt to be afraid of in this world.:whoo:
