Form is important. There are guys that make a living teaching form and working on form and if it has a bunch of wasted motion or isn't all that repeatable it usually gets worked on.
Kevin Martin had a awkward form but that didn't stop him from averaging 26ppg. An awkward form can confuse customary defenses.

Breh don't say that shyt. I want no parts of this nicca on the 76ers

Lonzo wouldn't work there because Simmons skillset makes him a point forward. Something how Giannis plays like. Both teams wouldn't make sense for him, unless the two forwards change their game. Lakers is not a bad option, but they would have to move Russ or make him play a off guard position. Zo is the natural PG.

Option 2: Bron is the perfect example of a point forward playing with Kyrie, a 1 who is truly an off guard. If this could work, Ball might work for 76ers or Bucks. Same with Fultz, who is another off guard but the better scorer. What makes Ball works is he is a true point guard with excellent vision at 6"6. He's a healthy Shawn Livingston with even more upside. He'll fit perfectly with any team that's on the come up.

Don't a lot of people feel Russ is playing out ignore position at PG anyways tho

Think about it. Someone with the wingspan of a KD or something is closing that space faster and with that low, awkward release, he's swatting the shyt out of it
this. it reminds me of Kevin Martin's form a bit but atleast Martin had a quick release. this dude's release is low, awkward, and worse of all, slow

Because it is a new era. Stretch Fours who truly are centers. Centers shooting 3's. PG who are really off guard, aka points guards. This is why you have to appreciate guards like CP3 or even Wall more. Both could score the rock, but they genuinely set people more.

Edit: Just realized your point. I was thinking Sabo and not D'angelo lol. It's tough to say because Russ was playing the point at HS/College and did it well, but this is the NBA. I think he has the ability to play the point but doesn't have the IQ yet. Do you play both like Wall/Beal (who was always a SG) together, or keep them separately. With Lou there, that would be tough. Both are combo guards. Off topic, I'm thinking where Monk would fit at. The person who said he is a Lou clone nailed it, but Monk is even scarier with his athleticism.

I don't even feel like the release is the biggest problem with dude. Outside of transition opportunities he doesn't demonstrates an ability to get to the rack really in the half court game. It's very rare to see him break down college athletes off the dribble and he really has no inbetween game. He has really good defensive instincts, intangibles, and his spot up shot is gonna be money regardless of form but I dunno getting in the paint is like the biggest thing I look for in point guards. Last night he had an isolation play at the top of the key where he beat homie off the dribble(no pick) and took it to the rack. I need to see more of that before I knock Fultz from the top spot, because he legit does a lot of things better than Fultz.
