The Wrestling Observer is reporting that #WWE is working very closely with Matt Hardy's wife, Reby Sky, aiding her in the lawsuit filed against her family by #ImpactWrestling, over the "Broken" gimmick.

Meltzer reported that, although WWE has no problem reverting Matt and Jeff back to their "Team Xtreme" personas, they don't want to give Anthem Sports any money and are doing a lot help the Hardy's win their case.

A user on Reddit, who was later backed up by Brian Alverez, reported that WWE might have found a loophole in the legal proceedings, as #TNA used the term "Charismatic Enigma" when Jeff was in their company, even though it was WWF/WWE owned.

WWE is trying to make a case that TNA profited off of a WWE registered trademark and might countersue, in order to get the case thrown out, thus giving the Matt and Jeff full rights to the entire "Broken Universe."

McDevitt takes no losses....

If the hardest funded the broken shoots anthem has no case

But imo, this is being done to reeboot the broken personas because now once they lose the tag straps they can show their descent into madness
People are forgetting, if its not on see tv it never happened

WWE Reportedly Planning On Using Matt Hardy's 'Broken' Gimmick - WrestlingInc.com

WWE is reportedly planning on using the "Broken" character for Matt Hardy. Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is working on a deal with Impact Wrestling to use the character on television, which has yet to be finalized.

As noted, there have been legal issues with Matt Hardy using the "Broken" character with Impact Wrestling claiming ownership of the gimmick. Impact Wrestling recently added a trademark symbol (™) to videos on their YouTube channel containing references to the 'Broken' gimmick, including 'Broken Matt', 'Brother Nero' and 'Broken Brilliance'. They also sent a cease and desist letter last month to pay-per-view providers airing the ROH 15th Anniversary pay-per-view regarding the intellectual property of the gimmick, which resulted in the Hardys not using most of the mannerisms associated with those characters on the show.

Hardy has been using some of the mannerisms of the "Broken" character on television since returning to WWE at WrestleMania 33 earlier this month. He has also been switching his Twitter description, using "#BROKEN", "#Version1" and "#Mattitude."

Lmao if creative ends up ruining it because Borash and Lagana aren't involved. Then everyone will complain about Vince not understanding gimmicks he didn't create.

If the 'E wins the case on the strength of this - it would be a 'Dixie Era' level, self inflicted L for Anthem :mjlol:
