Right,what separates them is the violence,which is why Detroit is labeled as the worst city,but it's plenty of inner cities that look just like Detroit.

There are places in appalachia that are every bit as violent (per capita) as some of the worst major cities in the U.S. look up Leslie County Kentucky.

It's just that poor cac areas are more sparsely populated than inner cities...so you can't find a single town or city who stats look as bad as some of the major cities...but when grouped together by county or region their per capita violent crime #'s are just as bad or worse than some of the most violent big cities
