If there's one thing that you can say has been proven time and time again, human beings will only do the right thing when a truly obscene number of people die.
Slavery didn't end until the Civil War popped off, (formal) imperialism only ended after two world wars. Healthcare, social safety nets and medicine won't be treated as importantly as war and the economy until at least more than 8 million people die RAPIDLY within the span of a few years. I say 'at least' and thats really low balling it because both world wars took the lives of over 100 million people before these cacs were willing to CONSIDER getting up out of Asian and African countries.
Covid and various infectious diseases are going to run wild for the next 10 years until the people with money start dying too en masse before funds are directed into sustaining society in a way that protects us from something like this happening again.
Until then, they'll continue to prioritize making more money they won't even spend over human life.
