I just don't want dude to leave his marriage because of what some jaded dudes on a message board are saying.

the only real power you have in a relationship is the ability to walk away. once you surrender that you have nothing else. the integrity of a relationship is maintained by that fact. both parties know that in the face of unacceptable behavior the consequences are the loss of the other party.

once one or both parties begin talk of a divorce in a marriage it's a wrap. maybe the logical reasons after the conversation show them that its not the best move from a lifestyle standpoint so they back down but if you can honestly look at your spouse and seriously begin the divorce talk your heart isn't in it anymore.

we all know what divorce means. nobody is stupid about that.
