So now we gotta ask why Kanye isn't pushing Cyhi Da Prynce. THE most slept on rapper in GOOD Music

somebody asked a similar question the other day about why people don't fukk with Los like that. my answer applies for Cyhi....he can spit...but he doesn't have the IT factor to be a star or somebody I check for on that level. I appreciate lyrics but he has no story and lacks the charisma that makes me want to pay attention to an artist over time.

Cyhi is a better song writer than Los though.

Everything you ask about Los, people are dropping freestyles...not ORIGINAL SONGS. :comeon:

But see bruh, this is part of the problem with "hip hop fans" Some fans are more drawn to the rappers backstory, block, upbringing, how many times they were shot, what beef they have been in, what label they are on and all the other elements that have no bearing on how dope the music is.

If the music is dope, then I'm supporting it. I wish people would pay more attention to themusic rather than focusing on all the other shyt

people tune in to the culture for different reasons. what attracts one person to hip hop doesn't interest another person in the same way. at the end of the day it all boils down to the music. what makes this exciting are the stories that make hip hop great. the problem is that we're given a bunch of artist who can spit but have no story to tell...they're just lyrical and have some flow. that's cool, but that's not what makes your music timeless. anybody with decent skills can sit in front of their macbook and come up with a hot 16 if they sit there long enough. stories and the person behind them and crafting great recordings around it is what's great to me. there are too many generic ass rappers who think because they have nice bars that they're automatically nice, and that just isn't so.

True but take the example of a cat like Drake. Dude has a pretty lame backround. A half jewish MC from Canada that was on DeGrassi sounds kinda wack on paper. But Drizzy's music trups all of that because his product is solid.

I feel u on the backstories being magnets to draw fans in, but I focus on whether or not the music is quality more than anything else.

These days the publicist, label, manager, street team craft a lot of the artsist images. So a lot of these MCs backstories are made up
