I only here shyt like this from the younger generation. Black people who were actually alive while King and X were alive and during the civil rights era are strongly pro Obama. My father for instance grew up in S.C. in the 50's and is a huge Obama supporter. Why do you think this is?

Because they're smart enough to realize his limitations and know how the world works. The presidential machine always moves in the same direction no matter who's in charge. Pro-war, pro-rich, pandering to special interests. Some of these dudes want Obama to go out there and give a speech saying fukk cacs and all this other shyt. It's ridiculous. Obama was blackity black black black before he was even a Senator.

Do you all know his history? Or what his story was?

The man was DOWN for the people. In ways no modern politician may ever be. I know Cory Booker wishes he was as real as Obama was when Obama was his age.

And even further...what do you mean by sympathetic? The man is on national TV talking about the feelings and emotions of black people around the world (something he's done for years and years) all while trying to maintain the peace between two segments of the population who are diametrically opposed to each other.

You have other countries who outright talk shyt about the "****** president" (word to several asian countries and a few european politicians) yet you want to keep holding him to this impossible social record that no other president has ever done? And don't bring up LBJ. He ain't even really wanna do the shyt.

Hell, Michelle Obama said "the blood of african runs through our veins" during the African Summit a few weeks ago...did you miss that too?

These are not people who lack a sense of self. But they are ultimately tasked with a job bigger than race and you can't expect them to address every emotional situation like this.

1. Obama was raised by his privileged WHITE mother and had almost no connection to his Kenyan culture, save his relationship with his grandmother. The same privilege allowed him to eventually attend Princeton University and Harvard Law.

2. He grew up in HAWAII, which has a significant dearth of black people. He hung out with whites and asians.

3. By his own admission, he first casually hung out with other blacks when he attended Occidental College. And that was because he played on the basketball team. He subsequently transferred to Princeton.

4. Before Michelle, he NEVER had a black girlfriend. All of his girlfriends were white or asian.

5. His initial exposure to the black community was when he was a community organizer. Other than that, he had no business being in any black neighborhoods.

Michelle on the other hand is a thoroughbred. She grew up in the hood in southside Chicago and embraced her blackness from jump. Despite her modest beginnings, she ended up going to Harvard Law. However, she always kept in touch with her black relatives, friends, and peers. Michelle also virtually admitted several times (before Obama was elected) that she gave Obama his street cred (read: his blackness).

Face it, without Michelle, many people can easily see that the dude's connection with blacks is very minimal. Had he not been with Michelle, there is NO WAY he would've been able to appear as if he was a black president and there would've been no way he could've had 90% of the black vote.
