Politics aside, from my perspective, generally speaking, Black people, in any capacity, should never strive to work for law enforcement, as you're ultimately serving the White occupation to take down your own people.
It's not always about yourself or the benefits.
Historically, Black Law Enforcement officers have done little to nothing to stand up for Black communities; instead, they perpetrate and enforce the same White Supremacist policing as their counterparts. Black people have to stop rationalizing reasons for joining the White man's organizations (Law Enforcement, military, etc) in the name of benefits.
Since obtaining the badge and uniform, what have Black folks who've joined the police force, military, etc., done for their communities? Nothing, all they've done is serve in the white man's military to enforce/protect his country, to push his goals, and political agendas onto the world for his benefit. The same thing with joining the police department, all they've done is enforce the same White Supremacist policing tactics, side by side with the White man/woman, while standing silent, backing their “brothers and sisters in blue” and failing to rise up against the system when their White superior officers are inflicting brutality on innocent Black men and women.
If one can ignore those realities in favor of personal gain, they're nothing more than a sellout and a liability to the overall well-being of Black people, as it indicates you can be bought and paid for if the price is right. They'd be no different than the Black folks, the same ones who helped set up Fred Hampton/Malcolm X, caused discord among the Black Panthers, the same ones who infiltrated and sold out Black Nationalist groups and leaders in favor of the White man's (FBI, Law Enforcement, CIA, etc) benefits.
