In regular season, yes. Playoffs, no. Retaliation pitches don't happen in the playoffs because every run counts. If they see you showing up somebody in a reg season game, you or a teammate will get drilled. Just dumb baseball unwritten rules

taking your time in the batter's box to ensure your comfort during an AB? they're offended

accidentally throwing near a batter's head? they're offended

running into the catcher full speed to make him drop the ball? they're offended

going in for a slide hoping to make the fielder make an errant throw? they're offended
