When the last time y'all been to Long Island City? Don't get me wrong, there's still goons in the projects, but the surrounding area is luxury apartments and gentrified.
More than 1000 white people from Manhattan jog or bike across the 59th daily...It is a nice and quite community. And it's a good thing, I like the park by water...it's hood but it still provides youths a place to play some baseball and jog...or get some exercise and practice hobbies.

Bloomberg and Giuliani ...if you don't agree with this statement don't do illegal things, I've had family do life in prison or die from AIDS, drugs and violence. Mike and Rudy played real ball...it's up to y'all to do the rest.

All that is good and fine but we know the only people that really suffer because of this are the middle class and the lower middle class. Poor people got section 8 and rich people are rich, NY said fukk you to everyone else.

I was born there. Moved before I turned 5 so I don't really remember shyt. But my mom used to tell me stories about shootouts breaking out in broad day while we were outside just at the park or coming home from grocery shopping. And everytime I go back its still the hood

Aint there parts of Marcy and Compton that have become like that now from what we've read and seen? Like parts are dumps more than dangerous and other parts are filled with growing number of white people. Gentrification of hoods not only in the US but around the world been happening (In the UK for example, Brixton and Hackney are like what Brooklyn has become)

Areas have some bad parts, and some good parts, but they are still mostly black or latin. I'm tired of hearing this shyt that a neighborhood gets better just because whites move in. That is a half truth. Certain whites who move into the bad areas slowly make it better but that doesn't mean the area is bad because of black/latins and needs whites to make it better. Areas of baltimore or philly that have whites is proof that belief of whites making an area better is BULLshyt.

I do think some people are just scary and think a rough looking area is bad when it isn't so they just assume things are getting better as far as safety when they see a starbucks or more commercial real estate or white people. It doesn't mean it's true though. I guess it comes down to who is calling something safe or dangerous.
