I started following him a little late so before I gave him too much credit, I tried comparing him to some other pitchers..

Wakefield: Knuckle ball only goes about 60-65 mph
Mussina:Hybrid knuckle curve is more of a curve ball

So I looked at some of his highlights and it went a little something like this...

:huhldup::dwillhuh::leon::ooh::ohhh::scusthov: ...dude is sick

In a sport where hardly anything is revolutionary, its good to see a modernized pitch. He has a good shot at the Cy Young this year, 11-1 so far with an ERA of about 2.00. The question is, is this just a baseball anomaly that will fizzle out as the league adjusts or are we seeing something special?

I dont know if players are gonna start catching onto it or not... but what I do know is that he throws it at different speeds, and different release points .. so that throws guys off. I was just listening to his interview with Orel right before the game started and he was talking about how difficult it was to learn the knuckle. I know I'm a Met fan and all .. but I'm loving it. This guys story is remarkable. Seems to be a hell of a guy also.
