Drake was not a multi platinum star he was a corny lookin, ultra soft, jewishnkid
from Canada. Most of these rappers/artists have been passed on Jay was passed on for years, Ye, Eminem all these people.

I obviously meant he went platinum after she passed on him also I am referring a single exec that passed on goldmines, not several artists that were passed on.

ok dikkhead, given my example of Nas, Russel Simmons or Lyor Cohen would be the exec you're looking for they passed up on heaps of artists. fukk, Russell didn't even sign Run DMC to Def Jam

That's still Russell or Lyor....I'm still referring to one person. Game and Drake both called specifically her out not Motown. Every other situation known the artist would just name the label...etc. that's why I made this thread because she seems like the first individual to tell these future stars it's not gonna work.

if Game or Drake signed to her without Dre/50 or Wayne's co-signs they would be sitting on the shelf.

Makes sense...I always wondered if it was Rap-A-Lot/pre YMCMB Drake that met with her or fresh off Degrassi Drake.

Russell is one man who passed up on multiple artists, Lyor is another. Tom Silverman passed up on a lot of artists too, he passed on the entire Wu even after having RZA signed to Tommy Boy. there's even an ad in The Source that has Wu-Tang Clan listed as "Coming Soon" on Tommy Boy, much like Death Row had The Chronic 2 listed in All Eyez On Me booklet.

Silvia Rhone was president and one of the highest people with a large ass staff. Everyone they passed on is basically her dough and everyone they made a star as well. Every big executive has gone through this. Most artists try to get bids from all labels and ultimately one wins, I.e. The others technically pass on the artist.

Pass is a bad thing to say, it's like saying I passed on buying google stocks, because I had the chance.

I think there's a little sexism going on when calling Sylvia Rhone out. Rappers shook to call out Lyor. Also quick to call out Jay when he was boss.
