So smartphones killed designer phones

I've got the sony watch and samsung watch both are useless and the samsung watch is hideous, as a person who collects watches part of the reason to buy a nice watch is the mechanics etc. I don't see smart watches taking over high end watches.

I don't remember specifics, but one of the big Euro fashion brands had their own type of phone. I just remember seeing them when was trying to buy unlocked Blackberries.

So i use a nike+ sport watch

And i have the nike+ app on my gs3

If i could combine those two...like a galaxy watch with gps that synched with nike+ and i DIDNT need my phone to listen to music or take calls...i'd be in heaven...i already use bluetooth headphones...

There will eventually be smartwatches that don't need to be tethered but for now they are just a waste of bread.

Apple will never enter that market, these things were super niche back in the day. I laughed when I saw it zip by in the LNHH intro. I'm not sure if they ever came out with a new one, they used to just use Nokia software. I heard they had plans for a Droid maybe its out now. But ya, no shot Apple drops some 10k 24k gold phone.

smart watches will never hurt luxury watches. luxury watches are a different kind of status symbol than a smart phone. for a phone, functionality, and trends are important. for watches, heritage and materials are more important. a phone can never challenge a watch on its heritage, and a watch can never challenge a phone on its functionality due to form factor, size, ergonomics, etc.

Google glass was just the start...they are gonna put chips in clothes and accessories across the board.

I think tech companies and designers will get a little more savvy and stylish with how the two integrate with each other. That Galaxy watch is/was ugly as fukk.
