Could never get into star trek. I remember watching the movies from the 80s. Star Wars was always "neater", Star Trek was for the hard core nerds that were beyond just ordinary nerds, at least in my view.


But I worked with a dude who I didn't know was a huge star trek head, anyway we at his crib, me and a good friend and we smoking and watching football. The games ends and star trek came on, the tv show, shyt was the worst, like when mash came on I knew it was time for bed type shyt... Anyway, we start clowning on the show cuz it's so cheesy, and we high being silly and homie got heated. He was like, "this is the greatest show on tv, how can you talk shyt about star trek etc". going off, dudes face was all red and shyt.

I apologized for clowning and told him I had no idea he loved star trek so much. He calmed down and it was all good but damn. y'all trekies get heated.

I actually have another star trek story but fukk it.. Can't get away from it lol

It’ll be an interesting dynamic for him. They have a writers room and JJ steering it so I’d love to see IF he can not only direct something that’s not his but also something that he didn’t write. For better or worse right now, JJ owns Star Trek on film.
