How about we compare the Rock and Cena's matches against similar opponents :mjpls:

No thread needed we already know who had the better matches.

Rock had better matches with HHH, Jericho, Angle, and Taker.

Cena has definitely had better matches with Punk and Show.

Matches against Brock are a toss up IMO.

Not really. The match with Lesnar needed weapons. The match with the Rock made Lesnar who he is in pro wrestling. He was never credible and always getting Goldberg chants until the Rock did what Austin, Cripple H,and Taker didn't at the time. Same shyt he did for Angle and Jericho in the main event scene. They were good comedy talkers and played off that comedy face and heel shyt but the Rock feuds in 2000 and 2001 made those kids matter for awhile until they were put away for other priorities. The Lesnar match with Rock was voted on the Greatest WWE titles matches DVD....hell, Rock had more matches on that DVD than anyone else except for Hogan I think. All fan voted. You're not getting any Cena matches voted anywhere except for that video game thing that had a Rock tag on it two weeks ago. Go figure.

Hold up, I kno there's a clique of u TSC brehs, that hate the GOAT but do we really have to big up Lance fukkn Storm? :comeon: Lets be honest, nobody cares about any of his matches and he has ZERO classics to his name, he's nothing.

What I don't get is why Dwayne fans are so defensive and feel the need to disrespect great technicians like Lance Storm to feel confident in their fanhood. :ehh:

Lance was a superior athlete in his prime and put on better matches. Just because Rock got popular off of wagging his tongue at microphones and over using pauses between cornball ass jokes doesn't make him a better wrestler. :ehh:

Brock was credible before he faced Rock. Angle and Jericho didn't need a receding hairline, over stayed his welcome version of Rock to become great. You forget that fans began to become bored with Rock around late 2001 when he was rocking sleeveless shirts and track pants. Why do you think they were so quick to boo him after the match with Hogan at Mania?

HBK was also named the greatest super star ever in a WWE dvd. Since we are using WWE dvd's as credible sources sir. :mjpls:

Lance Storm has no classics and that's just the facts of the whole situation, I don't give a fukk about all that technical shyt, he was boring as hell, I watch wrestling to be entertained

Lance Storm was not a superior athlete in his prime, better wrestler but not a superior athlete. I think sometimes people forget how fukking big Rock was and the type of shyt he used to do in the ring before changing his gimmick and switching to a more main event wrestling style.

I'd argue it'd debatable that Storm had better match too. Storm was a great technical wrestler but Rock's matches against Austin, Foley, and HHH are better than any match Lance Storm has ever had.

Because it was Canada and it was Hogan's first match there and in WWE in YEARS. Crowds had been FULLY behind Rock during that feud before that match.

And it should be noted that Jericho himself has praised Rock to high heaven as a phenomenal worker that helped him during his career, specifically during the period you're talking about.

That Rock/Lesnar Summerslam 02' match doesn't get enough credit for being a great match imo..it's a classic to me, had a classic baby face versus heel monster build and it actually feels epic while watching it, loved everything about the match

I don't know if I'd go as far as to say it was classic but it was a damn good match.

I think people underrate Rock as an in ring performer simply because he's not known for being a great technical wrestler, but in terms of selling and getting crowds invested in his matches he's a master. As a heel he knew how to antogonize the crowd and be the showoff who got put in his place by babyfaces. As a face he played the hero in peril who'd never quit incredibly well.

Shake leg stomp, oversell to stunners with the backflip, the slap punches, the somoan drop, the struggleshooter, the occasional leap in the air clothesline and the armbar? :ehh: I don't recall Rocky doing much outside of that.

I consider Rock one of the best entertainers in wrestling history, but he never really outworked or carried anybody in the ring outside of a few instances. Thats all i'm saying. He's still a legend. :ehh:

So you admit Rock was never an elite level ring worker and relied off of promo skills and his charisma? Its not a bad thing you know. Hogan and Piper didn't put on clinics either but they are still great entertainers and all time greats. :ehh:

I said right there in my post that Rock displayed athleticism BEFORE adopting a main event style. During his Rocky Miavia gimmick dude was doing missile dropkicks and flying cross bodies from the top rope.
