Is a fighting game with only 1 fighter really a game?

You get more fighters on a demo.

Only way this can be a win is if additional characters are $2 or less.

Only way :what: In a demo, you get two characters and one stage.
In this you get one character and the entire game :stopitslime:

Additional characters, lets say there are 20 characters. I guess they wouldn't offer Character Packs like they do now
Games will ultimately be cheaper. Since its free, most gamers will try it.
If they like it, they'll buy more characters. Some people will buy all of them, others will buy 2/3characters. But now they dealing with the entire userbase instead of the lets say 1million people who normally would buy the game.
In the long run, they'll make more because they'll have more clientele total

Its business. A business model that is successful on PC's. World of Warcraft is the most popular game on the planet. Its Always online, basically works just like all this :manny: (You don't see PC heads complaining, in fact they keep trying to recruit niqqaz)

Killer Instinct was always sort of dumb -- the goofy Mortal Kombat knock-off with a skeleton, a dinosaur, and dudes named TJ Combo (ugh) and Fulgore (what?). In hindsight, Killer Instinct was kind of embarrassing.

:shaq2:

Wish I could neg this fakkit.

Looks like I'm gonna have to get an Xbox One though :wow:

Anyway, fighting games are much better for local multi-player. Which means you have to have actual real life friends to play. Which is why I'm not surprised to see so many "I only use 1 fighter anyway" responses in here.

Killer Instinct free-to-play was a misconception, Glacius to be fully playable at EVO 2013 and 40 training lessons
During the GameSpot E3 2013 stage event a few of the game developers from Double Helix Games were on stage to discuss their newly announced title Killer Instinct.

In particular a few rather important notes were made, the first thing mentioned was that there was a small misconception with the game being free-to-play. While the game is a launch title for the Xbox One, fans will be able to purchase the full game on it's release. There will also be a demo which comes with Jago as playable character where you can play all of the game's modes including online mutliplayer.

If you decided after playing the demo that you liked the game, you can selectively purchase packages which feature various characters.

Yesterday, during the announcement trailer Double Helix also showed off the character Glacius. It was confirmed that he would be fully playable during EVO 2013.

The last thing that was talked about was the game's 40 training lessons to try and teach players how to learn the game.

Marvel Heroes recently just did this.. making the game free to play but having heroes like hawk eye and dare devil free but you have to pay for the real known heroes like thor, hulk iron man and shyt.. I was thinking.. $5 a hero or so right ? :pachaha: them mafukkas is $20+ a fukking hero :whew:

buying 3 heroes would cost $60 which would be more than buying the actual game itself :what: that aint even buying costumes (which are like $10+ each) for the hero as well... no wonder that game flopped :pacspit:

:damn::what: Breh you serious? That's insane.

Gamespot confirmed there will be a full version available and the F2P version is the one with just Jago and you can play the entire single player campaign and online modes with him.

Sounds like the best of both worlds to me.
