It's because although he's technically skilled, he doesn't make timeless music for black people to go back to 10-15 years later, like Ludacris and T.I.

Because he's successful. Simple as that. Every successful rapper on here receives hate. The more successful an artist is, the more hate they receive. That and the fact that if an artist is hated, the get more hate when they don't flop or they continue to have successful careers. That bothers posters on here more than anything else. For example, Jay Z won't retire, but has continued to release albums that people on here claim they don't like. Those albums go on to be successful and they go harder on him because of it. Yes, it would be easier to stop listening, but it's too logical for The Coli.

With Eminem, all of his detractors on here claim they don't listen to his music, but are the main ones saying 75%-90%+ of his catalog is garbage. If you don't listen to his music, how do you know? The singles don't make up that much of his catalog, so they are obviously listening.

It's because most of his actual fans here are rational people who know their Hip Hop and enjoy lyricism. All the complaints about rabid "stans" and the only people around here that speak on him with that kind of zeal are the ones rounding up muthafukkas for social media campaigns to tell everyone how much they don't like Eminem

With that said, Eminem is underrated on this site. He is a talented guy. I don't really have any desire to hear him though. I haven't liked anything he's done in a long time..

I'm an Eminem fan. But yeah, his body of work hasn't aged super well. He still has standouts that have held up well, but there are quite a few skipable tracks on those first three albums.

One of the most gifted MC's ever and his catalog won't hold up super well outside of his rapping. Kinda sad when you think about it.

One thing about Em that always makes me laugh is that he eventually made the exact type of poppy trash that he mocked at the beginning of his career.
