You have a lot of faith in Les Bleus, last time I saw them they played pitifully against Sweden and lost :francis: Couldn't beat Portugal without Ronaldo :mjcry:

And why you're making this about cacs, France is mostly white players too :patrice:

Who do you think Deschamps should pick in the midfield? :ehh:
I've already said that I don't think France will win because of Deschamp. He's such a reactive manager with zero playing philosophy.

But you can't really put too much stock into the Portugal-France finals. Portugal was clearly the inferior team, with or without Ronaldo. France just choked and could not put their chances away in regular time. It took a wonder goal from a journey man to fluke Portugal to a win(fyi I had Portugal as my darkhouse to win the tournament long before it even started). I think they will grow from it. If France had Benzema or even one mobile striker, they win that tournament easy. Next year, they will have Dembele, who has no problem unlocking a park bus team and Mbappe who has no problem scoring on a park bus team.

France team is mostly black
But Dechamp can't bring donkeys like Matuidi and Sissoko in the midfield. Their time is up. :camby:

Pogba-Kante-Tolliso
Pogba-Tolliso-Rabiot

Also, lowkey Deschamp has to move away from the 4231 lineup. Only person it benefits is Greizmann. Greizmann is not a generational talent to be accommodating the formation for. 433 is the best formation I feel.

Their main weakness is they don't have a deep playmaker like a Xavi or a Fernando Rodondo, but I don't think it's that detrimental for them to win the tournament when they have class in almost every other area.

Yeah I wasn't high on Portugal but France did indeed choke. But that's a part of the game, being up for the task, so...and the latest games I've seen they weren't really convincing. I agree Griezman isn't a generational talent, and yeah Mbappé coming for that spot.

Unfortunately we won't be seeing Benzema anymore with Les Bleus:francis:

France has the talent but they don't have someone who can really take charge and take over a game. The French team that won back to back tournaments in 98 and 2000 had good players and strong characters in there, Deschamps, Zidane, Desailly, Thuram etc. The current French team has the talent but not the mental strength of the title winning teams that could win when not playing well. The Germans in the past were the opposite, very functional and boring but found ways of making it to finals like Euro 2008 or the World Cup in 2002, not many people could name more than 3 or 4 players in those squads. France has enough even without Benzema to win, hell he only turns up for CL and he has accepted a role where he is mostly a foil for Ronaldo, Real coaches like him for that type of role. The big problem for France in the Euros was how Deschamps used Pogba, it felt like he was being given the reins of that team but in the final tried to make him play like he was Pirlo or Xabi Alonso and it backfired. The thing about world cups is it's never really obvious who will win going in, the 02 edition looked to be set up for the French with Trezeguet,Henry,Zidane ,Makelele all coming off good seasons but they lost, in 2006 Brazil were overwhelming favorites. The one weakness for the Germans is who partners Kroos in midfield, Khedira won't cut it and neither would Gundogan unless they change formation.

I agree with this completely

but I feel like this might be Pogbas year to turn himself into world class. Second year in the PL. I want to hope that he'll step up for the national team because France now has 2 dynamic, young forwards who are fast and make runs. Something that will help him out alot. We saw a preview of the 3 of them against England. Now they need to pray Deschamp can build from that and not take another 2 steps backward
