Now it isn't a thing but i'm sure back in the 40s and 50s people were  at the Harlem Globetrotters

In 1959, the Globetrotters played nine games in Moscow after Saperstein received an invitation from Vasily Gricorevich, the director of Lenin Central Stadium.[8] The team, which included Wilt Chamberlain, was welcomed enthusiastically by spectators and authorities; they met Premier Nikita Khrushchev[9] and collectively received the Athletic Order of Lenin medal.[10] (However, according to one report, spectators were initially confused: "A Soviet audience of 14,000 sat almost silently, as if in awe, through the first half of the game. It warmed up slightly in the second half when it realized the Trotters are more show than competition.")[11] The Globetrotters brought their own opponent—not theWashington Generals, but the San Francisco Chinese Basketeers.[8] A review in Pravda stated, "This is not basketball; it is too full of tricks" but praised the Globetrotters' skills and suggested that "they have some techniques to show us."[12]

With all due respect to the greats like Wilt who played for them back in the day, y'all can have the Globetrotters. I'll pass

I remember my moms took me to a Globetrotters game as a youngin. After the game, they had it where you could pay for a chance to win a basketball. You had to make 3 free throws in a row. I begged my mom to let me try. I made the three free throws in a row and won the basketball. My mom was so impressed. I was more proud of moms being impressed than I was at winning the basketball:mjcry:

Uncertain grounds
globetrotters > what and 1 became in their later stages and > their overall historic impact by far.. and 1 developed damn near a generation of people who dont know what a carry or travel is or focus on anything other than their handles. even now if someone gets crossed i hear "HOT SAUCE :krs:" yeah too bad it was a travel, a double dribble and another travel within one move. they were also a good show though, just a different lane. gotta understand that. i did enjoy their semi competitive games and background of most of the players as legit ballers but it became a caricature of itself and fell off.

they are an entertaining show for the kids and is by far the best sports performance strictly geared towards kids. theyve helped grow the sport. what is the problem with that?
