The only period when younger teams won in college football was in the 90s and early aughts, but historically upper class man teams wins.

Focusing on age is wrong

focus should be on the money spent

Yes, this is also when money got so good in the pros that more and more guys started to leave without using up all their eligibility.

We also saw this in basketball with guys leaving as freshmen and sophomores instead of as juniors and seniors and with the era when guys were able to come over straight out of high school.

You think Cuban is only donating 6 figures or something? Lol

And what do you mean...they literally just passed Penn State as having the largest living alumni according to reports. Followed by y'all, UCLA then us.

First off.. what Cig is doing is fukkin insane. And this is not to take anything away from the man. But I took 15 minutes to look this up for myself, becasue I've heard conflicting reports.

This is Indiana's starting lineup. Anyone thinking that age/experience doesn't mean anything is crazy. There's experience and then there's full grown ass men.

QB - Mendoza (22 years old)
RB - Hemby 23 (almost 24)
WR1 - Sarratt 22 (almost 23)
WR2 - Williams Jr. 24
WR3 - Cooper 23
TE - Nowakoski 23
LT -Smith 21
LG - Evans 23
C - Coogan 23
RG - Lynch 21
RT - Ajani 20

DE - Kamara 24
NT - Tucker 24
DT - Landino 21
'Stud' - Ndukwe 20
WLB - Hardy 20
MLB - Fisher 22
CB1 - Sharpe 22
CB2 - Ponds 22
NB - Boykin 23
SS - Moore 24 (about to be 25)
FS - Ferrell 20

I left out special teams cause the punter alone would flaw this whole thing.

Average age: 22.136 years old.

There's not one single teenage starter on their whole roster.

You can't say it doesn't help them.
How many are 5th & 6th year players?

I tried to find average age of other teams and only found some other forum post where someone said that the average starter age of Oregon is 22.3, Miami 22.6, and Indiana 23.2.

They’re tryna make it sound like everyone else is 20 and Indiana 24.

Mark Cuban in and of himself cannot outspend let’s just use Michigan for example (but the same applies to USC and others) - Michigan’s rich alumni if they decided to push that button. And even if he and a bunch of Indiana alumni got together they couldn’t. Remember that Michigan and USC are the two big schools that pushed back on giving a private equity stake of the BIG and basically called everyone broke or had at managing their departments.

I don’t follow who has what largest living alumni base but I would assume that larger schools have more living alumni given the various departments. That has no correlation to how much money a school has or how rich their alumni are. (Harvard, Stanford, etc.) Michigan is ranked 12 globally in billionaire alumni. Indiana is nowhere near. To take it further, Northwestern, USC, UCLA and Michigan are the only 4 big schools that ranked in the top 20 of high net worth alumni (those worth 30 million or more). It’s simply a matter of whether those schools care to spend the bread. So yes, Indiana is killing shyt and they have a great coach, a veteran team and alumni who are now more willing to spend because of proof of concept. But the overall vibe that I got from your post - and I can be wrong - is that they have this money cannon to go along with everything that will keep is going and they’re simply not going to consistently outspend other big time programs if that’s really what it comes down to for kids.

Some of us saw this years ago with NIL and transfer portal.

This really hurts JUCO transfers and kids coming in out of high school.
