Half the country lives in Eastern time, they're not gonna start a game when most people are still commuting home from work and can't watch it
So the NBA is really expecting the east coast to stay up for a 10:30PM start time on a Tuesday?

Same, the fact they can watch sports live at a bar at night is legit. Games out here end at 10pm.
Start the east coast games at 7. Then the west coast game at 9:30. Problem solved.

I mean that is the schedule for tomorrow's games. But I also feel like they're catering more to the people who attend the games. As much as we argue about ratings, they want those people to be there in the stands spending money. Game 5 for Minn-Den on Thursday is at 8:30 our time, and 7:30 Minny's time.
Mfers don’t understand time zones that’s why. I want est start time games at 4 like how it is for the west coast viewers, but I understand that’s not practical. Getting 5 and 6 o clock start time games for the east coast like how it is for mountain time & CST viewers is dope too.
Mountain and West are the best time zones for games by far. nothing like having excuses to drink hella early during football season and then NBA/MLB playoff games start during work hours making time flyYea east coast time suck. I was so happy when I moved out west to mountain time.

They basically sacrifice the idea of west coast missing the first quarter of a gamein exchange for the east coast missing the fourth quarter of a game ..which is usually the climax
It never makes any sense
But they look at it as the people who fall asleep on the east coast still got their tvs on anyway, so the ratings and numbers still getting run up

If at all possible, they are not starting games in MSG at 7pm. Thats still too early for people to get to the games in NYC, due to traffic in Manhattan. This is why Knicks and Nets games are 7:30 during the regular season. People trying to get home from work, and then trains out to MSG are a bytch in lower Manhattan.
I concur that 8pm is late start, but anything before 7:30pm in Manhattan is a no go on a weekday.

Most NY rangers games start at 7pm
They sell out just like the Knicks do
People will show up to games at any time in these cities that have legit fans ..they could have it at 2am and the arena will be filled
