Not only did he turn face but he went against his family with no reason as to why?
The only explanation I can give for the turn is that they didn't want to leave him off the PPV. Kayfabe wise Harper and Wyatt used to treat him like a child. In fact Harper used to slap him all the time so I'm sure the turn was to defy Harper.
Watch how it plays out cause people said the same thing about Ambrose and Rollins but Rollins turned out well.

Really weird and random. Guessing they decided to put Rowan on the team about 1 hour before that segment. Thought he was doing some creep angle looking for Renee or whoever.
The only explanation I can think of would be that he didn't appreciate Luke Harper allying himself with the establishment. But if that's really where they are going, Harper should change up his look a bit. But who am I kidding? WWE probably haven't thought that much about any reasoning for this.

Maybe, but they could've done that with any of the other guys at the PPV, like Sheamus. Why book a replacement to get replaced? Because WWE, I guess.
