Don’t know what the truth is yet, but the city they were from, Alexandria, is only a few hours away from Dallas. Also, for the average drug dealer, 12 bags of gas is not a “little bit of work” It’s not a lot at all in the grand scheme of things, but it’s not a small amount by any means. People still hitting the road every single day to go get work. Driving a few hours from a smaller city to a larger one to get work is extremely common.

I know plenty of dudes who pitch, some who are formally educated, but it’s little sh*t. Allegedly pushing pounds after spending 4+ years to graduate (even with a BS degree) is stupid. Why waste time going to school in the first place?
