One of my personal favorite horror/thrillers. Silent hill got a few of its traits from it. I can't imagine Hollywood doing anything less than fukking it up though.

Surprised they wanna remake this. Its known to horror fans and some others but hardly a remake that you think would make lots of $$$. If its true they are getting the director of Midnight Meat Train though i may check it out

It's incredible, and if you've watched any horror from the last 20 years or so, or even played any horror games, you will see the obvious influence this movie has. The "Silent Hill" series in particular admitted they stole a lot of shyt from the movie.
