But they didn't so why "put their feet to the fire" the updates are free for existing owners while giving new potential buyers extra incentive.

Complaints are good. You seem like the type who doesn't mind paying for DLC. Well me and many others grew up in a time of cheat codes. Cheatcc.com was one of the main sources of cheat codes. Nowadays, companies are pushing out cheat codes and making you dudes pay for them. Putting them on notice by preemptively (albeit wrongly here) making threads about the general direction most games are taking (dlc) doesn't bother me one or another.

If they pull the original version off the shelves and put this version out, I don't see what the problem is. They're just improving the game. You don't have to buy the game twice.

Grew up in the same era, so you're preaching to the choir. But don't act like gamesharks and other products that cost money didn't exist. I pay for DLC when I know I'm getting value for my money. The only game I've done that for this generation is The Witcher 3.
