They were the 1 seed with Rose playing at an MVP level and the same guys you mentioned with a better bench for the past 2 years.

The Bulls mismanaged the entire year. They should have either tanked the year and sat Rose, or added another perimeter scorer to go along with Rose so that when he comes back he doesn't have to carry the entire offense in a series (which is what will happen in the playoffs this year)
