I had the same reaction as you. No original moldings, baseboards, or wooden interior doors. They even ripped out the original carved wooden fireplace. In Boston, that Brownstone would have been broken up into 2 condos, because after removing all the original wood work, they would struggle to sell it.

Exactly, what's the point of even buying a brownstone in this case?

My uncle had a brownstone with the original interior and it looks much nicer. I'm looking at photos of OG brownstone interiors on google right now, and it's a crime what they did to this one

New York price gouges so much, I'm surprised their own economy hasn't collapsed yet. Businesses are moving out and not paying for those expensive ass vacant lots anymore either.

The city has been teetering on the brink of collapse...

Lawmakers are debating passing legislation to tax streaming services to make up for revenue lost due to tax payers bailing to the south...

It’s like they’ve never heard of supply and demand.

Supply and Demand doesn't always affect the pricing of real estate. Commercial real estate is a great example. Retail spaces will remain empty for decades while the landlord continues to demand above market value leases. Youtuber Louis Rossman did a complete series on it as he tried to find a new location for his business. I have personally experienced it and know of some retail spots near me that have been empty for 20 years, with stupid high rents. Now that investment firms have heavily infiltrated the residential real estate market, we are starting to see the same there too. Good luck using supply and demand to explain the glut of stupidly expensive empty condos in Manhattan. This problem existed there even before Covid.

Looks like the same crib the girls from Living Single lived in.

No way those struggling bichez would be able to hold up in that place now.

Probably gonna convert these stores into apartments/hybrids if they can... no one renting them for businesses since the pandemic...:francis:
