Man I don't even think they're scared of failure. People love to say black ppl dont support their own but I know for a fact that nikkas support black films and TV.

nikkas just want white peoples approval, not blacks, thats all they really gotta say :camby:

How can we support something if it doesn't even come out :mjlol:

Last time I checked Empire and Power are two of the most popular shows out

Make something good and people will support it

I hear that. But it's more so the premise of the movie he was called in for.

Someone who made those classics doesn't have better ideas than Chris Rock driving a bus full of rappers lol?
Right, but I have a feeling Chris was using Weinstein and rapper bus as hyperbole to prove a point. Reason is if you look at Weinsten's imdb cred, he doesn't do comedic movies. Who knows if Chris even has that range; and if he does it's up to him and his agents to better his skills and show his capabilities. he can't wait for some white dramatic director to drop to a serious piece in his lap that brings out his acting chops.

comedic actors make some of the best dramatic actors
Marlon Wayans in Requiem for a Dream
Mike Epps in Sparkle & so on
in hollywood if you are a comedic performer you have to try harder to get the serious roles. note how you haven't sen marlon or mike in serious roles since. it's just not a thing. jamie foxx won because he has the skills to back him up; he's an actual performer. my point is i don't know if any of this applies particularly to Chris. SO he's sitting there talking about what's offered to black actors when what he really means is what's offered to him.

That being said, I'd rather see classically trained black actors in serious oscar worthy roles, but they can't wait for whites to write those roles for them. I couldn't stand the early 200s where ether only used rappers and rob singers in major roles, as if there weren't any serious black actors out there (they are still doing that, why the hell is Iggy Azaelia bafoon TI in the new ROOTS? :mindblown:

They too scared it will sabotaged like Black Wallstreet or like when Suge/ J Prince/Irv Gotti tried to start their own distribution
It's not just that they're too scared, but also there's way too many snakes in the entertainment industry and will try to shut it down at all cost to please the white.
yeah thats one of the reason
thats why they should move in silence
Moving in silence is always the most effective way just go to make sure people stay quiet about it.
Digital Distribution is the future.
Digital distribution will always be the future for music, movies, video games, etc. Hollywood and big cooperations doesn't want indie or inspiring cooperations to get their piece of the cake.

Yup. But as always the HOOD nikkaS(the people who really run black america) find ways to get around hollywood. nikkas can complain all they want, but I salute everyone doing these web series and ghetto flicks. Fucc cacs.

Money and Violence,
Snow on The Bluff
Respect Life
Take Ova Ya Trap
etc.

:salute: nikkas comin outta pocket to pursue film, showing black brehs literally ANYTHING is achievable.

The reality is most black people in America will follow a Money & Violence, Power, or Empire before a Great Debaters mini series. We've been conditioned to think on a very simplistic level.
