Well I'll speak for myself. I paid less attention to Candice Wiggins once I found out she was married. Same goes for when Serena was letting that cac that made Rush Hour smash. It kills the fantasy.

Its no different than meeting an attractive woman at work or the mall, you like her but then 2 weeks later you find out she's getting married or is already married.

I just stop talking to them altogether, usually. Whether I had a chance or not there's no point in wasting time.
