Two weeks after Tidal briefly cracked the U.S. iPhone top 20 download chart, the app has crashedout of the top 700. Apparently American consumers have limited empathy towards Beyonce and Nicki. Soon after the launch fiasco, Tidal’s CEO was kicked out in a “streamlining” move. The new CEO Peter Tonstad, a former consultant for the Norwegian Ministry of Environment, has his work cut out for him.

How did they fukk this up that bad? :mindblown:

Yeah theyre trying to compete by pushing a brand new product thats MORE expensive than all of the alternatives. That might work with liquor or clothes but it makes no sense for a cellphone app...

I think they'll be fine if the drop the price...
Keep it low, and once you have a nice library of exclusive content then you can raise the price....

I like the concept, the price point is just too high for me to give it a chance

in this microwave generation if it doesnt do good in the first few weeks very rarely does it ever catch on fire then..

Drop the price? The price is the same as Spotify if you want the same quality. The high-end stuff costs $20.
Only difference here is that the media would rather have companies that have very little to do with music make more money off it and keep the status quo. Everywhere you read, only the $20 is mentioned but the context is not articulated to readers.
