So today im 30 .........

Yeah, my best friend is 33 and most of her other friends are 30+ and they all are pretty happy from what I can see. They have their bad days like anyone else but for the most part I see no signs of depression.

I think it's just a method for guys who have nothing going for themselves to feel better about their situation. That's the only reason that I can think of someone trying to convince another person to be depressed about something that happens to everyone.
