I think the point of this thread has been lost. I ask why is it that a show displaying Greek Women who are human causing such an uproar? That it can warrant BGLOs to force it to get canceled but BGLOs and blacks in general dont use the same code of conduct and have other "bad images" of blacks removed from the media? Why is it that muscles can be flexed to remove this show but muscles arent flexed to created strategies of economic empowerment? Nobody thinks greeks are perfect but greeks who go out their way to have these things removed.

youd have to ask the black community as a whole this question. dont get angry at a small ORGANIZATION for protecting it's image. And yes organization was capitalized for a reason. You cant expect a handful of organizations to shoulder that burden alone.

I`m still waiting on a healthy discussion on why it was imperative to have this show remove and not every other negative show regarding blacks. The whole Are Greeks relevant is a discussion for another day. Is it not important to protect the image of blacks from all areas? are are greeks "different" from the rest of blacks?

Again the show was slandering their organization. They struck it down because it would have tarnished their image. I dont get whats so difficult to understand about this? And if were going to strike down every negative image regarding black people....then thats going to take money, support, effort, and organization on the parts of black people as a whole. You cant put that herculean task solely on a small group. shyt, youve got someone from the nation of islam in your icon. Why arent you trying to take them to task for not fighting this endless battle that you seem to want people to fight on your behalf?

I guess the writers weren't creative enough to stay consistent with nikka-c00n shyt to be disseminated on TV.

lol man get out of here, black greeks wont even move into the black communities they claim they help. How will a food bank end the economic problem of people not being able to afford food? BGLOs operated on a dated model point blank. I Bought property in one of the worst communities in america, im investing in the local black businesses, im working with local urban farms, im not wasting my time handing out no got damn turkeys. I know plenty of legit greeks and even they will say how dated Bglos are and how much poltics there are, majority of the heads of greek org leaders are washed up old civil rights cats who dont want to pass the torch to younger modern greeks

This is a common criticism levied against most organizations. Anytime you introduce bureaucracy, there will be artifacts, traditions, and politics, which create tension and can stifle movement. But that's inherent in any organization because its the nature of the beast. Would love to hear what utopia organization you feel doesn't have these issues....

So politics is the reason most orgs still use a dated approach to modern black issues? All im seeing in this thread is excuses, why is nobody trying to discuss the topic at hand? I ask why is it not important to protect the image of all blacks and not just BGLOs. I ask do BGLOs find themselves to be seperate than non members? NOI, Black Panthers, Moors, etc act in the intrest of all blacks, so not sure why someone brings up I have a NOI book as my avy. in that Book Elijah Muhammad speaks on how integration, marching, etc have done nothing for us (all things your organizations continue to do), they are noble acts but will not solve our issues. You greeks are trying to take on different topics in this thread when you have yet to address one. if Greeks are about service and working for their community why is it that they will voice action to protect their organizations image but not the image of blacks as a whole? What is difficult about that? The whole "you must want to be greek" etc deflection is a tactic by unintelligent people when they cant answer whats being asked, the same way SWS and c00ns say "what about black on black crime"

I ask show me where thse BGLOs talk about creating an economic base ans creating jobs specifically, and people are briging up food banks, school donations, schools in africa, etc. Non which address and fix the issues. Donating feeding the homeless doesnt end hunger, teaching the homeless man how to provide for self solves the issue, Elijah Muhammad did that for tens and thousands of blacks nationwide. While BGLOs were marching, NOI was building schools to give black children a non white washed education, building farms to provide food in their communties, and opening businesses left and right. Im not even trying to discredit Greeks acts as they are noble, but like I said they are using an approach that has not and does not work like the NAACP. Defend your greek orgs all you want but black children were being lynched when your founders were around and are being lynched on your tv screens now, so really what have you accomplished?

Miss me with your vitriolic stock replies. I never said any of that shyt.

And like a previous poster said: black greeks have been active in voicing concerns about the status of reality television in general as it relates to blacks, but you ain't trying to hear that though.

The bolded was a general statement to the path people were trying to take this thread. And find me articles where black greeks are creating petitions to have shows like LHHA removed or negative music videos. Show the light maybe i missed it or maybe you have a special greek website that has all this info

So protecting greek images is more important than protecting all blacks images?
It's an easier fight to win. They fight on both fronts, but their power isn't strong enough to get all the black ratchets off of TV. Especially when so many black people support the shows. I know you keep pushing this idea that they don't fight for blacks, but it's just not true.
